Welcome to my website! If you live in the Gosport/Portsmouth area and are looking for a first class carpentry service, then you’ve come to the right place.

My name is Malcolm Cadden, I’ve been in the business for more than three decades and I hold all the appropriate City & Guilds qualifications that will attest to my proficiency in the various aspects of the trade.

As well as carrying out general carpentry and joinery jobs – big and small – around the house and garden, I devote a lot of my time to the installation of uPVC facias, soffits, gutters and cladding, all of which can completely transform the exterior of any house, making it look much fresher and more attractive. The effect this can have on some properties is simply miraculous (and you can bet the neighbours will be impressed, too!).

It’s a friendly, personal service I offer, and whenever I am working inside a customer’s house I never forget to take every step possible to ensure that any mess or disruption is minimised. Like any good tradesman who takes pride in his work, the impression I leave behind when I’ve finished and gone home is of crucial importance to me.

I know that many recommendations are passed around on a ‘word of mouth’ basis and that’s why I cannot afford to let any negative comments tarnish my hard-earned reputation. Unfortunately, there are those in my profession who will work very fast, even flat out, to get a job finished as quickly as possible. But, believe me, with my practised eye, I can see the results of a shoddy job as soon as I get close enough to inspect it.

I, on the other hand, work steadily and meticulously, measuring everything with maximum precision – and then measuring again just to be sure! I suppose you could call me a perfectionist and there’s no doubt that I do apply myself diligently to every task, my aim being to present you with a finished job that’s absolutely first-rate, ship-shape and built to last – just like the old Victory herself!

You will find that my prices are reasonable and compare favourably with other carpenters/joiners/roofers in the area. What’s more, I’m very flexible with my hours of work; I don’t stick to a rigid ‘9 to 5’ schedule. I believe that all tradesmen ought to work to meet the customer’s timetable – not the other way around. Be it a midweek evening or a Sunday afternoon, when you need me, I’ll be there!
